WELCOME!

I'm an accredited counsellor helping people who are going through a big life change to process difficulties past and present, accept themselves and find ways to live that feel authentic, meaningful and contented.

I also offer clinical supervision for counsellors and independent supervision for people working in related professional roles such as education, social and health care.

I am based in New Plymouth (in Aotearoa New Zealand) and offer all my services online. I work in English and with people worldwide.

Counselling

I offer counselling to people who are navigating a significant transition in their lives. Perhaps you are thinking about making a big change - like ending a relationship, starting a new job, moving towns or countries. Or perhaps something has happened to you - like an illness or a bereavement - which has shaken your world. Perhaps you are feeling stuck, sensing something has to change in your life but you don’t yet know what.

Changes - whether welcome or not - can unsettle us and shake our sense of who we are to the core. Giving yourself time to reflect on your situation, your relationships and what's going on for you inside can help you to adjust and find ways - not just to cope - but to develop and flourish.

Clinical Supervision for Counsellors

I offer independent, confidential supervision for counsellors to help you pause, take stock and think things through. You’re welcome to bring whatever feels stuck, complex or emotionally charged and we can explore it together with care. I bring warmth, calm and experience, including specialist knowledge in working with children and young people. This is your space for honest conversation, gentle challenge and ethical reflection, away from the pressures of line management. You’re likely to leave with new ideas and perspectives, feeling clearer on what direction you’re going to take.

Supervision for helping professionals

If you are someone working in education, social or health care then you likely deal with a lot of difficult situations and have minimal time to think about them. Independent supervision offers you a confidential relationship in which to reflect on and make sense of the work you’re doing and its impact on you. It’s a chance to process what’s on your mind, explore different perspectives and feel more grounded in your role. It isn't about performance targets. You set the agenda; I bring my therapeutic insight and experience to help you think things through. Our conversations are thoughtful, collaborative and shaped by what matters most to you at the time.

In Crisis?

Counselling usually takes time to set up - sometimes a few days, sometimes longer. If you or someone else is in a mental health crisis and you need immediate support or advice right now, then you can find details of some useful organisations to contact here.
